If you had $250+- right now, what would you buy?

Hahaha I'm just joking around because if I didn't laugh about it, I'd cry

My PCP will not give me the prescription anymore.
He sees no reason to medically treat something that has outlived its usefulness.

buying coins -none in that price range that would get my notice as i have a set budget and refuse to go over it

but i'd use the money to trim the trees and then split whatever is left with my wife

Our cars / trucks have gas - I use a hybrid for local stuff and work remotely, so that's not a big deal, I've got nowhere to go, my retirement contribution is maxed as a deduction prior to me getting my take home pay, the pantry is full, and the kids got their undergrad degrees paid for. I'm very fortunate to have a little play money on occasion for the hobby, so I'm just looking for some fun. I appreciate all of the humor and input ;)

One could get a halfway decent Nero as or dupondius, or a Hellenistic AR Tetradrachm in fine.

Or five pretty nice Sassanian Persian silver drachms. (According to the ol' google, gas is 20 cents a gallon in Iran - no political overtones, I just thought it was an interesting factoid). The Sassanian coins are pretty wild, but they're neat and fairly cheap.

That’s an excellent choice. $250 can also get you a beautiful Thaler.

As for US my top choices would be:
    Draped Bust Half Dollar, 1805-07
    Liberty Cap Large Cent, 1794
    Draped Bust Half Cent, 1800
    (Best possible grades for $250)

Seated Liberty Half Dime, MS-63, common date (might have to stretch that $250 a bit, but definitely doable)
or 1838-O, G-VG if feeling a key date

I like those! Got my first one recently - good price (under $100), beautiful coin, that's something I'll consider (along with the Trade Dollar, Capped Bust, Bust Cents and Seated Liberty Dimes and other suggestions) -

I have a Turkmenistan coin on my watch list for around that much but I'm struggling to pull the trigger as that is quite a bit for something that only a handful of us worldwide would think to purchase (me being one of those oddballs :D).

Something to consider is a token from your town/city/state (or just one with a cool design). Here is one I picked up last year for slightly under $100. At $250 you should have more to choose from (or can get a few less expensive ones).
