They definitely have the worst slab by far. You can actually crack coins out with your barehands with them. At the very least they would be wise to start investing in some clearer scratch resistant plastic.
For coins only, I use ANACS either when I have low value coins that would be too expensive to grade at PCGS or NGC, OR, I need an attribution that PCGS and NGC do not recognize. ANACS' fees (i.e. per coin; attribution, if required; shipping; and insurance)--especially when they run a special--are lower than PCGS and NGC, AND anyone can submit (i.e. you don't have to be a member). I find their grading to be accurate, and a little more conservative than PCGS for some issues.
Pre-pandemic, at one of the ANA shows, I gave ANACS a few Barber quarters, 1896 S, that were solid high end AG's. They came back as FA-02. I think they are trying to establish a reputation as being very strict, as per my discussion with the at one show. When I mentioned it, they asked me to 'spread the word.'
