If I may comment on this...I suspect the user displaying that flag was given a warning and assigned points. The user most likely had that flag avatar removed for him. If he gets more warnings/points before these points expire, he'll get banned for good (if the total is 10 points or more I think).

edit to add: I am pretty sure the number of points received and when they expire is subjective (no matter how consistent the mods try to be, they won't be perfect (understatement of the year)).

Not 1 but 2 trash trolls that I have on ignore have been in this thread. It's nice that it tells you that you can see ignored content. But I posted this in ancients. So those turds need to get some ancients, move on and get a life or both.

If you'll go back to that post and re-read it I'm confident you'll figure out you missed the boat, here, in that the post was in reference to the demeaning characterization as expressed at the avatar. Political posts aren't allowed here, that's a given.

Straw argument. You set it up so you could have something to knock down. I saw that avatar. It was protected political speech. You've a problem with the particular political viewpoints expressed, that's your business, don't make it our business.

I'm so sorry to hear about @Furryfrog's ban!..........Wow that's odd as his @ name doesn't exist as when I start to type it normally comes up automatically!!
Isn't it strange, "WE'RE JUST WORDS HERE!"

I had a bit of a storm last year related to a tag attached to the top of the ancient forum, which eventually I backed down on due to my fellow colleagues here insisting there was no point in continuing....I took their advice and " ignored the tag"...IT'S STILL THERE 1 YEAR LATER :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:
Hopefully this thread doesn't start to become more provocative,.......
Here's another reptile just a bit bigger...

I will suggest that you familiarize(or refresh yourself if so be) with this pinned morsel.

    https://www.cointalk.com/threads/coin-talk-rules.34131/

I will go ahead and paraphrase for you...

    6 – Signature lines

Signature lines may contain a link to a website which you own or otherwise control, or of your employer. And only links - no text. Signatures are not to be used for advertising pitches. They can however be used for informational statements which reflect your character, or other tasteful information about yourself or your coin collection. Signature lines may never contain political comments be they endorsements and/or derogatory in nature.

    7 – Avatars

You may use what you wish as your avatar as long as it conforms to forum guidelines. Avatars of a political or pornographic nature will not be permitted.

    8 – Subjects we don’t discuss here

Basically it’s common sense. Just about every person on the planet has heard the saying – “never discuss politics and/or religion”. Why ? Because it starts fights, arguments and causes nothing but hate and discontent.
If you wish to discuss politics and or religion, then go someplace else. We don’t allow it here.

Consider yourself informed on the matter now.

What a master you are at missing detail! That avatar was political expression and as such isn't allowed here! In how many other ways do you expect me to say that? It's the commentary on the political content of the avatar that's got no business here, as well, as the avatar is protected expression. Differentiate that, will you?

Sorry eddie but you ain't being clear at all. Makes no horse sense!

This is what I take from your latest post...

The avatar is political and not allowed here.
The commentary on that avatar "has no business here" (which I think you are saying to mean it isn't allowed here either).

And your point is lost on me.

She commented on the content of the avatar. That's irrelevant, here. The avatar was political. That's what's relevant to the rule. The content, and however any of us feel about it, is irrelevant. Is that a little clearer? As mud, right? Lol.

Clearer, but not sure the distinction is necessary.

Well, commenting on the content just incites and inflames more because what if someone disagrees with the commentary, what are they, chopped liver? Let that alone. Keep the commentary to ourselves.

@CoinCorgi, it's bad enough the avatar was political. Don't use it as a platform to campaign for one's own politics. Let it alone. That's what I'm trying to say. It's a violation of the no-politics rule, and a goner for that.

That's been obvious the whole time.

One thing I find most frustrating about this forum is that when someone is banned we are all left in the lurch!!!??...."Names" just disappear with no explanation apart from maybe "names" who were involved in the thread that culminated in the "names" demise!..And then only if those "names" want to explain why the "name" was banned!! ...No explanation whatsoever from the "names" who banned the said "names" ...I do find this quite strange....When you've conversed with someone for years and then suddenly they're gone! But I mean Gone!....There should be some sort of protocol and breakdown from the mod's as to why a particular "name" has been banned!?..Rather than the rest of the forum trying to figure out why??!!..Which is exactly why this thread was started as no-one knew why!?JMO.

Does it matter what rule they broke? Or how they broke it? They're banned so you already know they broke a rule.
