1992 Lincoln cent - bowtie chunk projected off

    No, it's pretty easy to see the zinc rot and corrosion.

    Only one person here seems to be optically challenged or suffering research starvation. When the zinc core is exposed to the environment it is just a matter of time until it dissolves away. There is a plethora of information out there regarding the multitude of problems affecting the copper plated zinc cents.

    It’s zinc so you won’t get what you think it is. Just a perfectly placed zinc blister that popped and is now rotting.
