I found this ad in a magazine and was upset at what they did to a Walking Liberty half. I never did like making coins into showpieces anyway because it takes another collectible out of circulation. But in this case they mutilated the coin to make it fit! While I do like the juxtaposition of the Walking Liberty with a walking stick, the wear on the coin alone makes it worthless in the end.

I doubt it sold in the millions so I wouldn't worry about it.

I see more coin jewelry then anything else. Half dollars, silver dollars, hacked up into bits and such made into bracelets or something unattractive.

Might be because of this stupid chromebook. But when I click the image or link I get prompted to download it.

Yes, @AdamL . Also, the Picture here is as tacky as the Cane itself. I would never be seen in public with this. I hate using my cane as it is. :grumpy:

I don't really care of people create these types of things...it's just a junk silver half which would otherwise end up at the smelter. So, it's all the same to me.

That said, this thing is hideous. It looks like something Roger Stone would carry around with his tuxedo and top hat.

That coin won't last long. It will wear very quickly since it will be handled constantly. What a dumb idea.

now, the only thing important to me in a cane, is it's ability to crack a skull... I think this one would do that quite well :D

My thoughts as well. When it comes in, how about a quality review before I send the money.

Personally, I wouldn't do it myself, but it's nothing new. Coins have topped canes quite often down through history.

It's essentially junk silver headed for the melt. And it won't see that much wear anyway being at the top of the cane. Now, if it was on the end hitting the ground and the dog poo, then it would be a travesty!

    And what about hobo nickels?

My gripe is that for every coin used as a decorative piece is one coin less available for my collection!

...or in the case of these some less in the smelter's pot.

Interesting. one of the first things it says is "check to see if your chromebook software is up-to-date. Did you know a chromebook can expire!!! After 5-8 years, they will stop updating the software on your chromebook.

yup, except with a PC you can update the software, with a chromebook I don't think you can. You could switch to a different operating system, or just continue to use the chromebook without updating (what I'm doing)
