I can't tell with this one. Both "E"s in ONE CENT look like 1959D-1DR-001(Copper Coins)/1-R-II-C+VI(Coneca). The die markers don't match, but I think it may be a different die state. On the other hand it also looks similar to "ejection doubling."

I see what you are seeing on your coin, however the one on the site shows seperation at the south end of the letters. Nice close-up shots.

Thanks. As I searched a couple of more rolls of these, I discovered this on a lot of coins from different dies. I'm not sure if there was a doubled master hub for the series or if this is some type of mechanical doubling or other such anomaly that was prevalent for the series.

Early on these kept fooling me often. I don't see anything to be a doubled die (on your coin) but I do see what I must of re-looked at a thousand time when I was just getting started.
Remember it was the first year for the reverse and it was very crisp from the master die still, I don't know this but I always suspected that had something to do with this kind of coins lettering.

I'd like to have that coin in hand with a good loupe or microscope.

I know it's not a doubled die, but those 'dented' letters can make you look twice.
