Hey there! Well, I checked it out and say no way "Jose". Here's the comparison's for the 009. Stages A,B and C.
I respectively disagree. Do you see the tail off the top of the 2? Also if you look at photo #4 you will see the dot under the R in trust - that's the marker I see in coppercoins.com. I'll grant you it's not as strong as the ones you present, but the coin is well worn. Perhaps others will chime in,
You have it in hand, I am not seeing it as a match. 009 has a full secondary bar above the bar of the 2. Yours has die wear pointing off the tip of the 2. The marker on your coin looks like a scratch, I also don't see the small separation line at the top of the first T in Trust
Thanks for looking. As you say I have it in hand. I see doubling at the end of the tail of the 2. It goes past the tip and then turns right. There is also a small protrusion a short distance up the right side of the length of the number. Under the top curve it appears doubled. Above the bottom - flat bar - there appears to be more doubling under the discoloration. I did not want to clean it, but that's what I see. I accept your assessment that it's not .009, however there is clear doubling on the coin.
That is a common marker for a Deteriorated die. DDO-009 has a secondary bar that doesn't extend past the primary 2. It shows a separation line and notching, Your extends toward the rim from the 2. This is a marker that nearly every 72 shows it is part of the master die. It is called MDD.. Master Die Doubling. This still is doubling just not the valuable kind.
Wow, that's the first time I've seen you post in a dogs age. I thought maybe you had left the forum. Glad to see that you are still around. I have always enjoyed your posts.
