For those in the club, post away.

Here are just a few I've had.

I'll have a 1796 Liberty Cap cent in hand and ready to post in a couple days, but this is my 1796 Draped Bust. This particular one is S-102, which is one of the more common 1796 Bust varieties... at R-4.

I cherrypicked this one for $25 off an Ebay BIN as a dateless coin. Even besides all four date digits being visible in hand (albeit barely), the Style 1 Hair, loop-punch exclusive to Reverse of 1794/95, and a few other identifying factors make the variety identifiable without too much effort. Despite the low grade, this was a steal.

The 1796 Draped Bust Cent is a tough and somewhat underrated issue. Although the mintage figures say that about 109k Caps and 363k Busts were minted in 1796, the Bust is notably tougher to come by, and the 96 Cap in itself is the toughest of the three affordable Liberty Cap dates. The most common variety is an R-3, and Sheldon collectors need 27 varieties to complete the set for 1796 Draped Bust alone (as opposed to eleven for the Liberty Cap), which results in a large portion of the known examples being off the market and in collections.

Thanks! I was blessed that year which was my best year of Metal Detecting right before Lyme Disease ended it all. Being in the woods was GREAT but for the disease, it wasn't worth it. Take Care, Be Safe all.:) SAL

I have far more half cents, but I do have 2 large cents, neither in fantastic shape, but I still like them anyway. Someone on this forum told me that the 1819 is actually a pretty scarce variety, but I'd have to look that up again.
