Yes, it’s FS. $20-25 coin if you slab it.

Some people might nitpick about the very tiny mark across the 3rd & 4th steps above the "E" but IMO, it is 6FS. The problem is that the grade is nowhere near good enough to submit to a TPG. I have the coin at AU58, and it would need to be at least MS65 to be submission worthy. Still, it is a nice full step coin for an album. I'd say its worth $5.

I think it's FS but not sure if it's MS.

I don't know since I don't have it physically, but based on the image, I don't think so. It could be the way the image was taken.

That is QUITE different from the image posted, and does not have the interruption across 2, 3 and 4.
Based on this image, yes, FS. It was definitely the angle difference in the first image.

I used a micro camera c4om my computer and the full image are from my cellphone but it is the same coin. I think you can tell on the right of the 2,3, and 4

Agreed to full steps but damage at "Pluribus" is hurting the eye appeal, such as it is. Nice coin for an album though.

I agree with Lehigh that it's probably an AU coin. Looks like some surface blemishes (scuffing) from light circulation. If you can substantiate that it's staining rather than scuffs, then Eddie's estimated value might apply.

Could have been a recently liberated MS nickel that you caught before any major damage.

I concur on all accounts. It’s a keeper not a grader.

Certainly nice to find steps on a 1940 in the wild. That's a rare bird.
Full steps need to be MS? If so hard to find one in circulation.

‘40-Ds aren’t that scarce in FS. New hub. It’s not MS, so loses a lot of collector appeal.

I thought it has to be MS to qualify for FS. (And not a proof). So what's the rule on that?

I concur--6 Full Steps. IMO, unless you have a voucher from one of the TPGs and are also sending other coins in, it will cost you a lot more for grading as an individual coin submission than it could reasonably be sold for.
