ATB Arizona-P Quarter

Not questioning the cactus. Is his eye area a “die break”?…strike? Looks so odd that it directly goes through. Thanks for any comments.

Not sure if any better but it looks to me anyway lol, that the nose is divided??? That little area between it is as though it’s part of the coin and not him. If that makes sense.

I guess it’s like a gauge in his nose, missing part of the nose. The space is the coin.

 

Yeh. It seems to have just taken a Nasty Mike Tyon hit or in his case, Bite mark. . By another coin or some unseen force of nature.

 

Yes… lol! The last two pics it looks like a hit and the metal is still with it. I have other Arizonas. Thanks for your help.

It's PMD. You can see raised metal indicating it's from a gouge.

The Mint did not make a special die to have a separated nose. You need to take all the other circulation damage into consideration.

 

It took a hit, probably from another coin.

 

This is a state quarter, not an ATB.
