Thinking back to an 1909 S/horS that I used to own. They graded it 63RB. When every which way I and others graded it, it was a gem. They did not like the planchet quality. You could be right on this one.
Nailed the grade and color designation but wrong strike.For some reason the coin looked proof to me but I had my doubts,figured it might of been a twist.
I had the same thoughts about it being a proof but I decided that a proof die was not going to deteriorate enough to allow the obverse rim cud or whatever it is. As it is, I missed it by one grade.
