Hoping someone can tell me something useful about this one. Been lurking for about a year and collecting for awhile but never till recently messed with to many error coins. This thing looks like it's either no clad or possibly on struck on wrong metal. Multiple errors from what I can see both sides although that and wear n tear/people trying to alter coins im below novice. Any info as to what's up with it and if there is possible value would be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance
Which is why my initial thought was a clad issue. I'm unaware of how heat and the extremes there of would effect any coin.
It was dropped in the ground and someone found it. Being a 2021 it wasn’t there long but it did receive what we call ED or environmental damage. Welcome to CT.
Thank you. Still trying to memorize the wam and clams years of importance lol lots of info on all of them. Thought had chip n shuttle. I'm shooting 0 for 4 today so far lol
Hi and welcome to CT. As said above, your Delaware has environmental damage. As for WAM and CAM on cents, here is a useful site for all the varieties and errors regarding cents. Save it for future reference. The other two sites have great information regarding the minting process and how dies are made alongside great error and variety info. http://www.lincolncentresource.com/ https://doubleddie.com/ http://varietyvista.com/
aside from what @expat posted for you, understanding the minting process and always asking yourself, "Could this have happened at the mint?" will eliminate questions of errors.
