Thanks for reminding me. I do not yet have any of the tiger tongue money. Here is a China AE cast ant nose money, c.475-222BC Warring States period. Also a Thai AR pod duang from about AD 1824-1851.
There you go. That's what I was talking about. Now, for my taste, those two just don't do it, but I feel I'll need to get one of each somewhere along the way just to fill out the collection.
As we all can see, my computer, for some reason, is doubling my post clicks. What we can't see, is that when I click on someone's like button, I often have to click on it 2, 3, or even 4 times to get it to "stick", otherwise it just jumps back to what it was before I clicked it. Has anyone had any similar problems? If so, does anyone have any solutions or suggestions? Would such antics be caused by being on someone's ignore list? I don't know that I am on anyones ignore list, but I wouldn't be surprised to find that I am.
Are you using a mouse? My mouse occasionally has problems not double-clicking, or double-clicking when I only clicked once. Try cleaning it.
Beware of fakes with the pod duangs, I have seen (and bought) a number of them here in Thailand. As for the computer misbehaving, probably just more of that PFM (a type of pure magic). OK, post a coin...Japan 2 sen Meiji 15 (1882)
Scrolling through my old photos (I swear I mixed up my decaf and regular coffee, wide away at nearly 2 am!) and found this coin. Just love the look even though it's not some blazing red beauty. One of my favorites. My first coin newps of the year will be headed my way soon, so this got me in the mood.
Japan 10 sen, Showa 15 (1940). Almost all Japanese coins are so well designed and artistic, I can easily see how one could get hooked on them.
This is a neat thread and Asia covers a LOT of territory. It has languished for a month now, time to wake up again. I will post another Japan, 100 yen 1958.
So many nice coins! One of my favorite 5 sens. Not so much beautiful in the pretty sense, but bold and strong. Very martial symbolism with the rising sun and golden kite motifs.
I miss Siberian Man posting here. He has a wide ranging collection. Considering his location, it would be interesting to learn how he built his collection. Must be several dozen double row boxes. I don't think he ever posted the same coin twice.
