    Can anyone help me identify the vam of this 1878. I believe it is a vam 144 but when I looked it up they mentioned nothing about some of the doubling shown in the photos. Thanks in advance

    Yours appears to have the die gouge in the hair for a 144.
    The additional doubling on the reverse appears to be machine doubling.
