I have 1873 Agricultural Trade Dollar which is Rare 4. I have looked everywhere and I saw it sold on ebay for $210 which does not make sense. The coin is 70-200 minted yet it sold for only $210!!!!! I contacted the Replica producer and he told me that it can range anywhere from $3500-$25000. I have contacted the NGC but they could not help with the pricing, they told where to go and what to look but still no pricing. Here is the information I was able to retain online: 1873 pattern trade dollar. P-1458, J-1315. Rarity-4. Liberty Seated motif popularly attributed to J.A. Bailly. "Agricultural" Liberty motif
Is it raw or graded? The biggest thing is the grade. Heritage has sold a bunch of them; the lowest (ANACS AU50) sold for $1,725 in 2007, and the most expensive (NGC MS66) sold for $10,925 in 2007.
If this item is not graded yet, I would definately get it slabbed/ authenticated by one of the majors. Whether you are planning to keep it or sell it, it will be money well spent.
Not to nitpick, but a minor correction - they are proofs, not business strikes. It was a PR66, not MS66.
Post up a pic, bro. Not be nosy, but I just gotta ask : where did you find this little sweetheart ? They aren't just lying around in grampa's attic, that's fo sho.
Believe it or not one of my Soldiers gave it to me and someone just gave it to him. I really can't tell you it is real. If this coin is not real, this is a superior counterfeit. I am going to get it graded with PCGS, but I don't want to pay $100 for walk-in if the coin is only going to be worthed $220 LOL Yes there is a major delima...

because he probably had to research the information to be able to make the Replica. Either way he knows more about the coin then I do...LOL:rolling:
Then I think I got a real one. It is dirty and EF condition but it is either Proof Like or it is actually Proof because I can see the luster and mirror under the dirt.
If it is real then it is worth the $100 grading fee, if not then at least you would know. Pictures will help determine if it is real.

Get it slabbed. at worst your out $100 at best you make a thousand ish dollars. it's work the grading fees
Hope this is not off the thread. How do you know what a fake 1913 V nickel looks like. I have one but how do you tell its not real..found it looking through some old stuff that my dad had. There are only 5 known right?? this one sure looks real, but it cannot be. Warren
