I should have used "Asia" fakes. But I could still be called a racist by those :blackeye: :stinkyfeet:pushing their agenda of division. From now on I'll call these fakes "counterfeits produced by those of the Asian continent." :D

How do you say "reasonable facsimile" in Chinese?

Frank Henning made fake nickels dated various years (1939, 1944, 1946, 1947 and 1953). It's not easy to spot the fakes, cause you'd have to really examine the die markers. However, a quick and easy one to spot is the 1944, because that's a war time nickel and should have the mintmark over the Monticello. Henning's fake nickel did not.

To answer one of your questions, it's not a mint error or variety.

Good article and info on Henning nickles @Insider. Too bad some people read race into everything. Some people just got to keep stirring the pot over nothing I guess.

I personally have never hunted a Henning.
    Might be fun.

What do these original Henning nickel fakes weight on average?
I'm assuming diameter and thickness is close to a US minted nickel?
Do they stick to a magnet?

I forgot all about this thread. I probably will not be able to find the images I took but I'll try. Anyway, the fake of a fake was a Chinese made 1944 Jefferson nickel without the mintmark. You know how crude and off-color the fakes are. I'll bet one is for sale on Ali Baba.

I would really like one if you can acquire one.
