I made a joke to a friend that I'm glad no one would try collecting JC portrait aurei by die variety and now I'm not so sure...
Wonderful coins. And they are on your desk ? In your office in Sarasota ? What time do you leave it to take your lunch ?
My car is all gassed up - let me know what time to pick you up. Ummmmmm...you might need to find your own way home, though, just so you know.
This better to give than receive…..I will give you my address. “And the meek who have no Aurei shall find one in the mail.” Rich Chapter2 verse34
Caesar seems to be always portrayed with a thin neck…Most of the other famous ones seem fat in the neck.
Hey, that neck sure is out of proportion. It's as long as the entire head. But hey have critique such an envious set of portraits!
I'd be very happy with one! Alas, the prices have had a zero added to them in the last few years. @IdesOfMarch01 and @jdmKY are lucky to have their superb examples already.
I sometimes forget that these types exist. Ah, nothing like holding an entire career's salary in the palm of one's hand
I recall an episode of "Pawn Stars" where some guy came in who had one and wanted $4g. They had their expert come in and advised them that it was a no go! Possibly for resale profit? This was a while ago just before I became interested in Roman coins. Whether that triggered my interest I am not sure.
Since Gavin Richardson complained that 4 would have been better, I thought I would oblige. Don’t like to disappoint anyone.
