The bag marks are an eye sore, but all Morgans are collectable in any condition in my opinion. Thanks for sharing your beauty.
@expat IMO, irrespective of the VAM (the photos aren't sharp enough for me to confirm), the price he is asking is quite fair for what the Seller predicts will grade an MS-61. For comparison, here is a PCGS MS-61 GSA Holdered coin that sold on GC in September '21 for $354+, which is busier with contact marks on the prime facial area than the coin being offered to you:
If the piece was viewed in hand with a 5X or 7X, would it possibly be appealing, or is consideration of whether a piece has appeal or not only possible with ridiculously oversized photos, with artificial lighting that may or may not be accurate?
What is the determination that the bag marks are a distraction, and/or that what is perceived to be bag marks are bag marks?
@Charlie Thomas The marks often take my eyes directly to them. Most often bag marks do not distract from TPG standards. If you noticed I stated “In my opinion.” I admire your Morgan that is the importance of my opinion. Good luck
Well, I have her. I imaged her in natural daylight but am having a bit of trouble capturing the incredible, typical CC luster. Also is an image of date position with bar under second 8. and die chatter between date and denticles which looks to confirm VAM5.
I figured as much. Did they help to distinguish the VAM? I havent looked at VAM world for your coin so I am just curious.
According to my fellow members at VamWorld, the three things needed to confirm VAM 5 are as I posted above. Date position, bar under 2nd 8 and die chatter above denticles below date.
I bought it this morning. Guy drove 2 hours to bring it personally to our office so I could see it in hand
@expat I'm happy that you did the deal on that coin; with the new photos I can definitely confirm the VAM 5.
