I agree. The silver women's quarters set is already on sale priced at $73...
I shudder to think what a complete set will cost, quarters included. My streak may come to an end this year.

Good question, I don't know the answer. Maybe they should get out of the business of creating instant rarities?
My situation was that I successfully had items in my cart (or "shopping bag as they call it), then the items were sold to someone else as I was entering my payment information.
This was the mint's response to me when I complained about the process:
"Once you add an item to your online shopping bag, inventory is not allocated to your order until you complete the checkout process. If the product sells out or becomes unavailable while the product is in your bag and your order is still pending, a coin will not be available when you subsequently attempt to complete the checkout process, as occurred in your case."

Hey, look at it this way: the spiraling premiums will kill interest in the sets, sales will plummet, and we'll enter a new golden age of modern rarities!

I guess a coin's mintage will always be an interesting number.

Not unless they are gold or silver at reasonable prices and available to the general public. Lately the answer is no. Thanks for asking, good luck.

LOL - That's the dilemma, isn't it? The year I break my streak, sales will plummet, the mint will sell 37 pieces which will then become ultra rarities! :) And I'll own every set except the desirable one! :banghead::)o_O

We're already seeing the trend in commemorative dollars, especially uncirculated ones. This year had some nice subject matter but I expect the downward trend to continue in the years ahead...

There's nothing rare about the mintages they put out with exception of the one gold coin. If they make too many and the price goes down people complain and no one wants it. If they make the right amount and the price holds or goes up people complain. No matter what the mint does people are going to complain because ultimately people want to have a low mintage winner that they're assured to get which is impossible to do

Its the same situation everyone has, some people dont even get them into the cart. If their site could actually handle the volume it would be like trying to buy the new xbox or PS5, it would be sold out before your page even loaded to see the product.

Clad and Silver Proof sets and Uncirculated Mint sets by subscription. Some specials, like the Morgan and Peace and also most of the Apollo 11 stuff (I am a space nut!). I actually enjoy the 'rush to the site' stuff that sells out quickly and hoses up the site - it just takes determination and you get through eventually, have not failed on one I wanted yet.

I buy what I like and will keep on purchasing from the mint. I also enjoy the quest to get something that may sell out fast.
    I'm a collector, so that's what I do.

Nope, but I did try to buy bags of the Sally Ride quarters and they still aren't in stock. I put in my "notify me" when they were first available and it seems they can't even do that.

Other than giving you fewer refresh tries it probably didn’t matter. You really just have to get lucky that you click right when it connects

I started collecting in 2014 when I got half of my father's coins. I started buying from the Mint slowly. I am selective on the Commemoratives, but I do buy what I like. I have been buying ASE's (W/S/U), Limited Editions, any set that has ASE's in them, Silver Proof Sets. 1/10th oz gold coin each year. I also buy selective $5 Gold Coins from some Commem sets, i.e., Basketball, etc. I bought the 2017W UHD 1 Oz Gold and 1/10th Oz. I bought the 2021W UHD Bucking Horse 1 Oz Gold Coin. I have the gold Dime, Quarter, and Walking Half set. I bought 1 Gold Buffalo and many more. If you are interested I have an EXCEL spreadsheet that lists all of my purchases from the Mint. Since 2010 (or so), I have bought about $35K worth of coins from the Mint. My gold coins or coin set with gold are in a secured location and locked up. Having been a retired accountant for about 15 years, I had to have something to keep my mind sharp.
I collect coins for enjoyment, not to buy and sell. I don't know how much I would get out of any of my collection, but it keeps my wife from killing me by being underfoot. She's retired also. I have one coin that I want, but not enough to pay through the nose for it. I want a 2021W 1/10th Ounce Gold Proof Coin, T-1. I was able to get the T-2, but when I tried to get the T-1, the Mint was sold out and anyone selling the T-1, wants an arm and a leg for it.

The 2022 Proof set with the Women quarters is great and the Silver Proof set too. Not sure about other items.

I want everyone to respect my decision to be philanthropic and congenial. I've surrendered all attempts to purchase anything from the Mint so that all of my fellow numismatic collectors can have the ones I didn't buy.

    You're all welcome

I wish the Mint had honored two or three individual players — such as Satchel Paige — on the coins.
