Sorry for bad photos, I am horrible at it. One of my dealers got this in, and being a tribute penny, fakes are always a concern. I am not sure I know how I feel about it. It looks too good, bust too far from border, flat body on reverse with a well defined chair and lettering. I would just consider it a fake, but was able to see similar listed as "early issues" on Forum article about the issue. Any opinions? This is not my specialty by a long shot.
Somewhat blurry pics, so it's hard to tell. And what's the weight? From the pics we have now, I don't like it.
This coin type is a huge field in itself, and I know nothing. Except for that «no, no....» feeling that I sometimes get when looking at a coin. And that reverse brings that out in me. It may be because there’s movement in your pictures, though. But I understand why you post it.
That's way too light. It should be more around 3.5 grams. Either it's a fake or a fouree, most likely a modern fake by the looks of it.

Agreed, about 3.4-3.5 minimum, depending on wear and that doesn't have much wear. Fouree I would at least think crack the 3g mark too. Edges have no seams or filing?
Agree with the comments above. Something about the look of this coin screams wrong. It just doesn't look the way an ancient should. And weight is definitely the nail in the coffin.
Thanks guys. For clarity, I did not buy but told dealer I would research for him. I didn't like the look, but boneheadedly forgot to check weight. No seams or any other evidence of casting like sprues, bubbles, etc which is what I checked first. The color is actually deceiving, being iridescent silver toning that looks right.
