I like all the coins I buy, but the gratification of getting something at a bargain is a definite bonus.

Imagine this AV Fiorino di Camera ND Roma Mint
    Pope Alessandro VI 1492-1503....

It sold for 4500 euros+fees in Sincona event in 2018.
The coin came with 3 prev. auction tags.
Back in 1936 Berlin Auction it hammered for the "princely" sum of 25 ReichMarks=$5USo_O It was certainly a much more affordable hobby in 1936;) Recently one sold for 7500 euros. 8f03ca70cee77a51fe3e151aad50249c.jpg

That was an important acquisition, with a nice broad reverse that has all of the characters!

Haha, we had to scrap that car last month… water kept pooling in the front passenger footwell - got tired of having to bail out the car every time it rained! It was extremely eco friendly though, it even offset its own carbon emissions thanks to all the moss growing on it!

I would spend a heap of $$$$ on this.....as long as it comes equipped with a 2 sp. powerglide:D fl0117-269368_1@2x.jpg

    Agreed!
This is how I performed all my "scheduled" purchases - I see a coin before the auction and if it's in my area (either an emperor/city I collect or simply a design that fits my tastes), I inform myself about a correct price (and of course, as low as possible). If I manage to get it cheaper (and it happened quite a few times), that is a big bonus.

Depending on the exchange rate at the time, Richard may have beaten me. But I have no regrets on this purchase:

That said, it isn't my highest "satisfaction quotient", as Doug described (I'd need to think a bit there); but, great coins aren't always expensive and expensive coins aren't necessarily great.

I have three coins that top out at the top tier. Being a retired postal worker and living off of a standard Canada Post pension, I really do not have the funds to do that very often. So the vast majority of what I own do not. However if I can do it I would rather spend a lot of money on one really nice coin than the same amount of money on a group that I would find to be less pleasing. One of the three.

So, uh, that would place this coin in the "$12,000 and up" category?

Joe, that’s pretty cold posting your coin right after my coin. Neither Caesar nor I appreciate it. :dead::joyful:

In the interest of making a "satisfaction quotient" a little easier for you to settle on, I have decided to let you send me your Eid Mar and therefore reduce the number of coins vying for position in your satisfaction quotient. No need to thank me - I do this of my own free will. There may also be more coins in your collection that I will extend this offer to include...you know, in the interest of helping out.
