Bag marks and minor damage especially on the reverse are noticeable. I'm bouncing between AU-58 and MS-60. In your favor I hope I'm wrong, good luck. Thanks for sharing, I like it.
Lots of great guesses and quite a few right on or close. I feel this one is properly graded but on a good day might get a bump.
Definitely. It is a solid 63, which could have been a 64 easily. I guessed 63, because of the sub par strike that some saw as AU 58, which I can certainly understand. Peace Dollars with weak strikes, but nice surfaces like yours can easily be thought to be AU.
I don't think so. I think it's an easy MS64 but for those deep hits on the reverse I think holding the market grade at MS63.
To be fair to those that graded it lower, I think the photos were to blame. The reveal photo shows more mint surface than the initial ones. Nice coin. Too bad about the reed hit.
@ifthevamzarockin I've had several of the Small ANACS Slabs (manufactured from early 1989 through 1990) and I've found that they did well at auction because (1) the grading was generally more conservative, and (2) the older White Slabs and their Labels were more attractive (IMO), easier to store, and command a premium (similar to the older PCGS and NGC Slabs) because of collector interest. I believe that your coin would cross at PCGS to at least MS-64, but you would have to break it out for submittal to NGC. Too bad CAC doesn't accept ANACS Slabs as I believe that this would sticker if it were in an older PCGS or NGC Slab in the current MS-63 grade.
