Negative on that. They made silver proofs 892,229 and clad proofs
    2002-S Ohio - Proof 3,084,245.
This is the only S quarter I have detected out of 7800. (2 silvers. I am hitting recent drops, modern finds.)

All proof state quarters also have silver versions.

Yes the side shows that it is clad. But I am very happy with this coin.
I rechecked the mintages and edited the post.

Decent hunt, silver ring, I will spare you the sad story. It's stamped 925 but doesn't look it here.

The 2 big hits were from a place I am perma locked out of. So early Sunday morning, I made my move like a cat burglar.

In the state I live in, if you dont have landowner permission it is trespass and if you take anything from the land it is likely burglary or theft and possibly a felony.

You could ask first instead of assume the worst.
Public schools are not private property. My taxes support it.
I never go when classes are in session. I never go during the week before or after classes are in session.
No kids on Sunday. They don't have the right to stop neighborhoods from accessing the fields which they had access to for 50 years.

Your damn right. Get a permit. They got to give you something. Just request dates. Just stay away from band practice

I won't fer in a debate with you, but property taxes pay for public schools so I am sure you must own property in the county on which the school is located. How would you likw it if someone sneaked onto your locked property and poked around and took what they wanted? School district property is absolutely "private" property in the sense that anyone who pays property taxes cant just come and go as they please if they have no legitimate business being there.

Found this LMC today in the sand. To bad the date can't be read.

Made more than my gas, was a little disappointing, and then the buffalo charm turned out to be sterling. 4.2 grams.

My second metal detecting find (still pretty new at this).

    pixlr_20220424102854952~2.jpg

Gotta admit I was pretty shocked by this one. I completely expected environmental damage to coins coming out of the ground like pitting and such. I just didn't expect the damage to ever be in relief.

I'm assuming it's from the majority of the coin surface degrading and leaving small raised details?

Is that normal for ground finds? Like I said still new at this, lol

That's Sterling Silver. These parts on the sides likely held small gems, probably diamonds...
