Actual item is in XF (Extremely fine). Pictures are from an old scanner but
few pictures came up to be ok. all errors on this coin are raised, no dents or
any damage is found on this coin, it is GUARANTEED genuine.
This coin is i n t a c t and it is a new discovery unique error ,meaning that the "Pennache" has had no publicity nor was it graded as of yet and is in no doubt a Museum quality error coin.

1977 Canada Lucky 7 Leaf Hair Penny or " Pennache ", penn for penny and ache for Apache
( the missing leaf from reverse in the Queen's hair resembles a feather like the Native Indians wear
(1 known to exist,R8 or unique)
Remember the Devils hair?....the 1st strike on the reverse misses to print a leaf which now discloses the small maple leaf , this part is normally hidden on all penny ever minted + overflip, strikes missing leaf from reverse on observe + #7 from 1977 printed on observe : total 3 7's-
    ULTRA ERROR COIN!

Please note : there are actually 2 leafs , one in the Queen's hair and one connected to it,
going downwards hidding part of the Queen's neck & cheek.

    ULTRA ERROR COIN!

Here you have the One of a kind Queen Elizabeth 1977 Penny Leaf (Feather)
Hair . the Leaf(Feather) hair with the Number 7 on the Queen's face accounts to a Double rare error for one (1) Complete R-8 ( Rarety scale-8=1,2 or 3 known to exists )or Unique error and URS-1 ( Universal Rarety scale ) 1 known, unique .
1st strike, the print misses a partial leaf on the observe and then ( 2nd error ) an overflip of the coin and then another strike which prints the missing Leafand the number7 on the reverse ( see picture )
the position of the Leaf :where does the Leaf ends up in? not off a little from her head and outside or inside her face but perfectly curved into her hair
and may resemble a Feather like the Apache used to wear.

This 1977 is missing one of the leaf of the Maple leaf on the reverse of the coin, Hence the little Maple Leaf on the back of the Big Maple leaf is now
fully visible! it perfectly shows off the leaf behind that missing leaf which normally is hidden on all Known Maple Leaf coins ever minted.

This remarkable error is a ONE OF A KIND!

Ultra rare or R-8 meaning it's Unique ( 1,2 or 3 of its kind known to exists) .

This coin is in circulated in XF , with nice strong details, the actual coin is much better looking than what my old scanner was able to show you.

I have seen double struck cents, I have seen broadstrikes, off-metals and off-centres coins. I have seen Double overlap and partial brockages , underlap and overlaps. edge variable but I have never seen anything of a true Piece of art or a Unique type of error before until now.the actual leaf is off and reappears on the reverse in the Queen's hair! The missing leaf reveals the back leaf which is always hidden , for the first time in my life I have seen the back of the hidden leaf and so have you now also seen it for the first time.
    It looks perfect! no blank spot in the back but a nice little maple leaf escaping from being an extra and claiming the principal part of the Observe leaving the Maple leaf now in the"Background" ;
A reversal or switch of part or role, and that is just incredible!

Out of all the Billions or Trillions of Maple leaf ever minted this one has it's One of a Kind Unique and Own Characteristics!
So I have seen the Devils hair and I am calling this one the.....

"1977 Canada Lucky 7 Leaf Hair penny"

    The " Pennache "

Let me tell you about why this type of error is unique beside the tricky stunt of the flipover this Penny did when it was striked by the press and missed to print partial of the leaf on the reverse and ended up striking it on the observe .....
Really most overflipped double striked coin out there are common to see or were, the observe is printed and so is the reverse + that reverse or observe then printed on that opposite side showing then 2 sides on one, but partial print missing and an overflip and struck on reverse is very uncommon or unheard of and this partial missing print is the leaf which ended up in the Queen'shair + that number 7 from the reverse date of 1977
for a total of three 7's and most of
us knows the definition of that meaning...lucky 7's.

But then again overflip or broadstuck coins , clips and off centres, double strikes , off-planchets(such as 1 cent design on a quarter cent blank ) coins struckon foreigh blanks or double denominations ( like a 10 cent design on a already struck 1 cent coin )those types were error types a thing of the past. after 1971 when the Winnipeg plant opened his doors. The minting presshad a new state-of-the-Art Press whose feeding striking and ejection mechanisms made some error types obsolete. The new presses, unfortunately for the error collector, eliminated a lot of errors because the mechanical finger-feed mechanism was replaced by a 12 coin feeder that looked like the cylinder of a Smith & Wesson and you know what that means.
The sides of the chambers of the 12 coin feeders were designed so that blanks could no longer jump out of their slots easily and cause overlapping in the striking chamber to create brokerage. Again off-centres became very scarce (R-4 = 76 to 200 examples )if not rare ( R-5 = 31 to 75 examples ) so after 1971 , 1972 and moving forward, the only errors advertised lately are die varieties struck in some quantity , variations resulting from different blank compositions, changes to the Mint logo ( with or without the "W" or the" circle M " logo. or , most involving the two pieces of the $2 coins that overlapped eachother. How accurate are my comments about the scarcity of Winnipeg-produced errors? Well, have you seen a lot of errors lately?, other than the $2 coins?Today , The Mint strikes all circulation coins in Winnipeg with excellent equipment that has very sophisticated feeding and ejection mechanism. The human inspectors were replaced by electronic inspection equipment, which doesn't take coffee breaks and isn't distracted by nearby employees.
So here you have it, The " 1977 Canada Lucky 7 Leaf hair Penny " or

    the " Pennache ".

Now calculate the leaf in the hair and do you see how it's sitting almost perfectly curved with the hair? as shown on the picture the leaf curves with the metrics of the hair, just like it was meant to be part of the picture. The leaf doesn't overflow the hair , showing it on the face or outside her perimeters but sits nicely within the hair...a perfect Unique error
    Error Mechanism.....
    Reverse Error :
Mis-Print of reverse partial leaf from Big Maple Leaf,
    striked with overflip on Observe ,printed on Queen's hair;
    + number # 7 from 1977 printed on Queen's face for a total of 3 X 777.
    Observe Error :
disclosure of missing small Maple Leaf (now naked) due to Mis-print of part of leaf from
big Maple leaf, never seen before.

The only coins out there printed with 3 777's were the year 777, 1777 and
the next year being 2777 +
3 777's are also considered to be a lucky number.
    Double rare ERROR = R-8 or Unique ( 1 or 2,3 specimens exists ) +URS 1(Universal Rarety scale ) 1 Known of its Kind.
1 known to exists for this type of error.

This coin would constitute to be TOP #1 in any serious Error Collector's Portfolio,
A Beautiful addition. A coin to speak of not only of it's beauty but of it's uniqueness
and also of it's error mechanism print process, the complexity that have happened for thiserror to have happened,

the only known penny ever minted revealing:
    - the hidden small maple leaf;
    - 3 7's
    and
    - the feather resemblance or leaf in the Queen's hair and the history of the engraving
of a 'devil's head' in the Queen's hair on the 1954 Bank Note from the Bank of Canada

Anyone could claim to be from Canada, or the US for that matter, so unless someone actually knows the source IP address, it could be from anywhere, so don't take it to heart. ( Even if you guys did win the GAME! ) :)

' A flipped double strike' ? What about the little leaf that is striked on the observe and that is missing on the reverse?...look there ....a double tail or a one side printed on both side is a simple error and nt much to think about for complexity or rarity cause we all know that a double tail goes for about $250K and it's not much to talk about or to see except both sides being the same..." Pennache" n01 Universal rarety scale 1 meaning 1 know of this type of error ....find one like this if you could please or rest in peace my friend:mouth:
