I would not bid at all at any price. There are no damaged coins in my complete set minus this coin. Therefore, I would not dishonor my collection at any price. If someone had bid $5.00 and won, bless their hearts.
I am here to say with 100% certainty that anyone who would not buy that coin at any price including $5 is a ____________. Enjoy filling in all the obvious choices as I am now but keep them to yourself.
LOL. I was the shortest kid in school up to the 6th grade. I was the youngest in my class the whole time. I am 1/2 Polish, 1/4 Irish and 1/4 English. I have broad shoulders and have been called many things in life. But I keep on keepin' on. No problem.
I continue to be amazed at the lack of comprehension around here. I asked a very simple question that has a very simple answer beginning with a $. I guess the confusion for some comes when I asked for a bid. We know what the genuine coin looks like. I wrote that I would pay $250 for it and perhaps more. I guess I should have posted a poll with price ranges. Treat this as a game of fantasy as the coin is already sold. This date trends for about $500 in undamaged Good. What would you pay for it - as is - to keep or flip? Any dealers here who would like to comment WITH AN OFFER?
Ok so basically a fantasy auction, yes you should've posted a poll I gave my opinions.I'm out, really don't care ill do this when i bid on one for real, good luck hope you get so called(correct)answers your looking for.
I would give $100 for the coin and use it in trade for something I wanted. I would hope to get $200 in credit towards the trade. My prices are based on what I feel someone near me would probably give for the coin. I don't know many folks around me that would even care to trade coins. At higher prices, it would take me a long time to dump it. Someone that could go to coin shows could probably work with higher prices. My next show will be in January.
I see nothing about the coin to say yeah I can live with that, And since the majority of my coins will never be sold or traded till I die. I would have to hide the coin, like a red headed step child. Count me in on the Polish side. A bit Irish, English, and a tad of Native American. I had 2 years going thru school that I wasn't the smallest in my class, and frankly every other class for the 4 years in HS.
I'm still in the zero bid group. I'm a collector not a dealer or flipper. And yeah, I was always in the front row of the class photo....
I'll guess 17. Am I close? Do I win anything? As for the coin ... I have no interest in Lincoln cents, and I don't do albums so there are no holes to fill. If I could steal it for a super low price to flip for a big profit, I might consider it. But there's no place for a coin like that in my collection.
Around $200 Damaged cull Fair/AG sell for $400-$500 on eBay. Though, recently a AU-details Cleaned sold for $600. Leaps and bounds a better coin.
Although I do not like the appearance of the coin (it certainly has minimal to no eye appeal), it has value as a Key coin. I am not generally a Copper collector, so my knowledge of the series of limited. Given those limitations, and given the research presented by others, if I wanted to purchase the coin, my bid would be in the $200-500 range, with $500 being an absolute maximum.
I have bought problem coins before as a place holder or album filler. The issue is: I am never satisfied with them and eventually replace them with an undamaged coin. I find damaged coins fun to look at and totally understand why others buy them, but I have long given up buying them.
