    I can see the wheat from the reverse on the obverse and would like to know what to call it and is this a ghost D

    Lamination planchet issues.

    No ghost. Just Pareidolia.

    Not unique. Common issue on Wheat Cents.

    As Paddy said above. Plus how can a ghost image of the D be a different font and size?

    By the N, it doesn't look like wheat to me, just some die damage

    Tom, your close up shows what looks like damage. Something was pressed hard against the coin and it left an impression. If you look closely, you can see part of the marks going over the device (letter) so it was on top of the coin.
    I can see why you questioned it with those close-ups, but sometime we just look too hard.
