No joke, this nickel is dated twice. Lol, probably because it was double struck and received the date in both strikes.

So... struck once, partially ejected, then struck a second time, out of collar, with a new planchet between it and the reverse die?

 

I just about had a heart attack..... I saw your post and saw "GDJMSP Likes This".... It took me just a minute to realize what I was seeing. But I do need my heart pill now... Too funny.

Your title is incorrect. It should be just a Double dated Nickel.. Not Doubled dated. It has absolutely nothing to do with Doubled Die doubling

What an unusual find. Normally you only get one date, or none at all. How did you come by it, or is it not your coin?

 

It’s mine. I purchased it last month in an auction. I saw it had had to have it and I got it at a low price. Lucky me.

Today is a good day. BP was 171/108 five hours ago. Not doing anything except watching dvds and looking at my coins, mostly new ones I received last week.

Thank you. Today was a good day. At least I felt better the entire day. Still tired, confused and having minor issues but compared to the past week, a 3 days hospital stay and a follow up trip yesterday, I’ll take lots of today’s and the way I felt. It will take time and I’m sure I have plenty of that. At least I hope so.

 

Getting old is no fun. A really good day is when we get out of bed feeling good, or find a spectacular coin when least expected, like yours.
