I think I'm going to adjust my collecting strategy

What I find beautiful are Palaeologan stavrata. My wife thinks, for this, I am nuts. But I find justification in Sappho's Fragment 16 defining beauty…

It now occurs to me I attached a 2nd. copy of the photo of some of my John VIII stavrata. It is not that I love them THAT much; I am merely incompetent....

I generally don't buy holed ones. One of my Brutus' was holed and plugged, but beggars can't be choosers.

I would recommend 3rd century sestertii. They are still for the most part affordable in decent condition and they represent a very active , interesting time of the empire.

 

I like third century Sestertii.

 

I think I underestimated my budget a bit. Stay tuned.

I can comfortably do $300 often, 500 fairly often, and 1,000 on occasion.
