I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see this set bid up past expectations by other people taking the same gamble. In a blurry photo, it's terribly easy to see what we want to see. I'd have half a dozen 1912-S nickels and a bunch of 1942/1-D dimes by now if my guesses were accurate -- and I'd probably be bidding on a lot of 1911 quarter eagles. THOSE are the real false-positive-bait.
It actually ended tonight, the seller relisted the set recently.I watched it when i noticed it at a half hour left.No bids and decided not to pounce.
If a coin is in a "estate find" group of loose, mixed change, I might take a chance on it, but otherwise, unless I can say it is a sure thing, I pass. I think you were wise to asked opinions here before "jumping" at such a coin.
