You don't have to report these since it's so many?

    I'm
I'm not that crazy about Turkish coins..They really have no attraction for me..But dig out so many pieces for a short time, is good to stay fit..

I'd still be over the moon to find a hoard like that. Were they all in a pile or were they spread out?

They all in a pile..I think it was small leather bag..There may be more pieces, but I don't think its a big hoard..They are very small, so you have to work slowly..

Donna, to be honest, I really don't know..I'm completely lost when it comes to Islamic coinage..!6th-18th century, maybe? If any of CT members can help?

Wiki lists 1450-1800 roughly. I guess you'd be able to narrow it down further if you can figure out which sultan is named on it.

The date on the coin at lower left looks like 926, Suleyman I.

Ha! I was out with my metal detector this afternoon but all I found was a few rusty bolts. I'd be thrilled to find a wheat penny, let alone a hoard of medieval/ancient coins! Congrats!

Great find @galba68. I agree, even if not in your area of interest, it's refreshing to unearth something of an important historical nature. Someone else may smile at owning a coin that you found, but you got the first smile when you dug it out of the ground! Great memories for you of you having fun.

These two have the date 926, meaning these akces were minted under Suleiman the Magnificent (reigned AH 926-974 = AD 1520-1566), probably at Kučajna, it seems to me (Serbia, Braničevo District). It was an active mint at this time. As far as I can see on the picture, many others may be from the same mint and the same period. It is a purse lost in the 16 th c. AD. If you are interested, here is the publication of a hoard that contained 262 coins of the same kind:
