Does anybody know if somebody based in Las Vegas that I can drop my coins off for a CAC submission and physically hand them to them and not ship them?
Huh? You hand the coins to the person or the person take the coins to CAC? Why are you asking? You don't want to send to CAC?
Yea and it's currently the worst time ever to be submitting to them. They have the $16 dollar tier suspended due to and extreme backlog and they just lost power for two days causing an even bigger backlog
You can try the dealer directory on CAC's site here: https://www.caccoin.com/dealers/ I typed in Nevada and only came up with 2. One in Carson City and one in Reno.
It should be back once they get caught up. They might up it again though to discourage the 100 dollar coins that are getting sent
You can still submit but it has to be under the higher, 35.00 tier. Anything valued under 10000. So I'm waiting to see what changes are made. This is in effect a month at least.
I think that for the most part you are right. But a nice coin in one of the older holders could conceivably get a bump with the addition of a green bean.
I do expect an increase and for this reason. I bet they are getting boxes and boxes of low value coins.
People are going to keep sending in under the 35 dollar tier. This is a "test the waters" see if it sinks or swims. And once the coins keep coming in the tier price will get increased. What do you pay to grade a coin? A lot more than 16.00. And if you are a collector member you currently don't pay if it gets a bean. I wonder if they'll change that? And lol, i sent them a whole box of Washington quarters postmarked February 26. I hope they love looking at all those!
I'm sure they're getting a ton of stuff they never imagined they would be seeing. The last two increases didnt really seem to slow it down either
The quote by @Vertigo: LOL, having sent a box of Washington quarters, I believe says it all about inconsideration of the "Supreme grading source". I've seen numerous similar postings, and expected the current changes from the original believed bargain CAC efforts. I personally have avoided the quagmire by not submitting, but buying high value CACed coins on the open market. As a qualified collector/submitter, I'll send, once backlog is reduced, the 4-5 coins that will meet the current believed reasonable requirements/pricing, (i.e. $10000 min. submission, @ $35/coin if not CACed). JMHO
