Cool contest BHP! It's always fun to play with the mind boggling numbers of some of these mintages.

Ok, so the lowest is the 1968-S at 258,270,001.

An NFL field from back of endzone to back of endzone is 360' long and from the edge of the field at the white line to the other edge of the field is 160' wide. So, one official sized NFL field = 48,000 sq./ft.

A single Lincoln needs a 3/4"x 3/4" square to sit in, to be able to be set next to another one. This mintage would cover 1,008,867.19 sq./ft.

In other words, the 68-S mintage would be enough to entirely blanket (just a hair over) 21 NFL football fields, to the back of the end zones and to the white edge lines.

The actual number came out to 21.018 fields.

Good golly Miss Molly - I guess if you had to pick them up one by one it would take about forty years doing nothing else, oh my back!!!

104,524 boxes of cents + 30 rolls + 7 1968 S cents at a weight of Approx. 718.61 tons (give or take due to 2 different weights) or a volume of 3318.66 ft^3. This is about 24825.300 gal(US Liq)
OR 24825 gal(US Liq) and 2.40 pt (US Liq).

If the average person drinks the required 64 oz of water per day and lives to age 80, they will consume 14600 gallons of water. The volume of cents in this equation = 1.7 lifetimes worth of water.

Olympic pool's capacity is: 648,000 gallons so this ammount of cents will fill an olympic pool 38.3% full.

    And the winner is!!!! Vess!!!!!!!

The winner is Vess - Living in SEC country a football field is a commonly viewed space often to our sadness when the time runs out so I can see this so well!!!
It was close you'all, the first 2 answers by Ziggy were just about as good! It very close, the referece to that mega-penny site was great, I did not know of it and thankyou!
Someone had to win and the choices were so good I wish all of you could win and in way "we" all did win with such good visuals provided.
81 years of searching was also good - those poor tired eyes!
The people on CoinTalk are some of the smartest coin people in the world!

Plus let me state for the record regarding the U.S. mint:
I am a die variety specialist and make my collecting efforts searching the U.S. mints coins for die varieties and to a lessor extent errors. I am outspoken regaring thier politics and practices but when it come to a well operated manufactoring facility they are fabulous - to produce that much with so few mistakes is staggering!!!

    So Vess congratulations!!!!!
Please PM me your name & address and I will send your coins.
