I have this mercury that appears to be whizzed. I'm not and expert but am I correct in my assumption? Also, the marked area looks like maybe a small crack, yes or no please. Any help would be appreciated. Regards. s-l1600-4.jpg

That suspected crack is raised, I assume?

Yes it seems raised to me.

By the way, what does “whizzed” MEAN?
I keep running into this term, but have never encountered any sort of definition/description of it.
    Please enlighten me!

I guess I should have found this sooner when I asked my question because it was addressed on this forum before. I found this thread. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/what-is-a-whizzed-coin.196059/
My assumption is it is an alteration to the coin surface to make it appear to have luster that has been lost due to the coin being cleaned.

Yes, that is a die crack.

Thank you. Any idea about if it looks whizzed?

It doesn’t look whizzed from the pic to me but not 100% sure.

Looks to me like it had been dipped at some point. Lost all original surface.
The mark does look like a die crack.

Thanks, I thought the U and R had metal buildup; just thought it looked a bit off. Regards.
