I was wrong. I thought you were a newbie, who incessantly posts valueless coins, and asks if they were DDO strikes, when they are circulated pennies. We get those weekly. It was my error, and I apologize. So, consider my hatchet buried, and I think we can share mutual numismatic experience, which is probably ample (given that we’re old codgers.). Peace?
I rather like the simple charm of the old holders. Would a submission to CAC be out of the question maybe? Just a thought.
I may go that route. I like OGHs, and must have about 75 or 80 of them. I can let Albanese make the call—if it green beans, it is a 64, and if it gold beans, it is a 65. Price wise, it makes very little difference—a $150 coin becomes a $250 coin?
Not a bad idea, although I think that the coin has been dipped enough to keep it out of gem, I would expect that the surfaces would have a deeper look to them, You know some ridges on the high points of the luster. I's a pretty coin, I can see this many marks on a coin with premium gem luster and get a 65.
You quoted my first comment saying, I don’t need this Be polite So, that caused me to go back and re-read what I wrote, I still don't see what's so wrong with it, except for your perception of its contents (or other?) So, my perception was you can't stand my form of communication, I got the feeling you thought of me as some lesser form of life on this planet that's beneath you. So, you got another response from me somewhat defending my humanity, but it wasn't hostile. Then! Your perception of that is I'm being hostile in some way towards you? Your belittling remarks is the only thing in this threads that could called "Hostile" (provoking) You've got two people defending themselves, and not being hostile! The reply just before this was in the works during the time you posted your concerns about Ukraine, and you saying, so I was being kinda testy Okay, NOW we see the real underlying problem, Your worried, your angry, and you needed to decompress the anxiety. So, you needed a subject, a punching bag and who better than a newbie. Your right, Lets bury the hatchet. I'm very sorry for what is going on in Ukraine, its a very bad situation.
Hey, I admit it. I can be a hothead. I tend to be rather outspoken, and can be taken the wrong way. All I can do is to be a man, admit I was angry and depressed, and bury the hatchet.
Yes, Lets get this thread back on topic with the title post and I see some here has been trying to that, thank you all for staying on track. There isn't anything in here yet that needs to be shut down, or reported. It is a nice coin, I don't have a lot of graded coins, most are raw Lincolns. Of the graded ones I do have several of them only make a 62 grade!
See, I have a lot to learn from you, as I have only a few cents. My only certified Lincoln right now is a 1909VDB in MS 65. I have a set of my son’s birth year coins—1982. Other than that, I am basically a Morgan man, with some other interests. I am going to keep the 1902o in its OGH holder, and send it to CAC. Let’s see what happens. Green bean, it is 64. Gold bean, it is 65.
I am sorry that your brothers and sisters have to take arms, I would have a hard time with the heart ache of not taking up arms to defend your brother and sisters, you hang in there Brother.
If you give that old dog, I sometimes call my bloodhound a chance he can be amazing sometimes. I had images of a fake silver in a fake slab and somehow he went to stiffing it out and he actually found the genuine coin for sale! LoL! And he can also spot a fake US silver coin from a LONG WAYS OFF, he won't admit it, but I think its that ugly nose of his, no body's got that good of eyes. Lots of times unlike my windy-ness (not always good) he'll drop in with maybe a one line comment, and browse on. Being a short one liner comment may seem sharp but its not, it just a communication style. Here is the image of that fake Big Silver and the fake slab he used to sniff out the genuine one. If you need a little help with a coin, let him sniff it, and set back and see what he brings home. (insert inside humor here) Warning, sometimes he gets confused with dead horses and brings back a dead mule.
I'm in agreement with 65 or better...maybe it's undergraded because of it's common date. Would grade higher today...I was just looking at one graded a 65, but yours is a nicer coin.
Now there’s a head on it’s shoulders. Great answer. You should of crashed the MLB board or with the Players Union meetings. Oh yeah PLAY BALL
