Am emoji is that dog under your avatar with the model jet fighter. The one that reads ADORABLE. When you type your response to a thread, there’s a smiley face on the second line just slightly to the left of dead center. Touch that and you’ll see all the emojis available on CT.
It's ok to for sending stuff to businesses, but I avoid FedEx like the plague. Ditto United Package Smashers. There were actually some coins I kind of wanted from Spanish vcoins dealers. Is there better luck with sending it via the post office? I'm even more scared of buying from Italy. I've had good luck with Germany and France, and my folks brought home coins from Austria some years back. The French one was super quick.
I've never had any issues with shipments from Spain. They can, however, be slow. As I recall all of the shipments were through Correos de España and USPS. Shipping services, private and public are still feeling the effects of the pandemic, especially with personnel, but also with airline flights, which seem to be getting back to some level of normalcy, if not 100%.
Update on mine. Reassuring news, thankfully. It was delayed at Roissy Charles De Gaulle for FOUR DAYS awaiting "clearance" and then finally shipped to the US. It's in Memphis. I expect it'll arrive by Monday.
I see some trouble at CdG Cedex usually. High load or some very unprofessional employees or a bit of both perhaps.
Nope. I sent another email query today asking for an update. Pretty underwhelmed by customer communication from this particular auction house.
Ugh. O for 2. Am I never gonna get this coin? And a coin won January 9 in an NBS auction has also not arrived. I’ve never had such bad luck. The NBS coin was a bit of a snack, so I had it sent at buyer’s risk. That may end up being a foolish decision.
I got one sent yesterday from Los Angeles/ coin auction house sent it via FEDEX as electronic papers/ no value/ arrived at noon! Beautifull AV Histamenon from Romanus IV in FDC! No customs fees!!!!!!
Well maybe that’s the ticket. And Donna, I have thought about a refund. I’m just weighing all options. It just happens to be a coin type that I had been waiting on for a while, and it was an affordable example. But I’m probably too impatient. I could probably find a replacement within a year or two. I’m just not quite ready to give up on this one yet. But I’m close.
oh i hate FedEX. They prioritise process over customer service and commonsense. I love it when they attempt delivery to my home three times, always when i'm at work, and then give up and return to sender. I've tried to redirect the package to my work, but that's too hard for FedEx because the sender didn't tick the box that allows redirection. It's an industry that's a good candidate for disruption, the same way Uber disrupted the taxi business model.
Well, speaking of disruption, I’m wondering if I should suggest DHS or some other carrier. Or maybe just send it some kind of regular mail, with insurance. But I’ve heard anecdotally that some people have issues with DHS.
I am very sorry about this snag with FedEx. It all sounds so opaque at the shipper's end and frustrating for you. I think you will eventually receive the coin, but there's just a lot going on in the world now, so try to be patient. As a final recourse you can file a claim with your credit card company. I believe you have a 6 month window to do that.
You can call your local Fed-X delivery office and make arrangements with them. I have and it worked just fine for me.
