I have a very small group of Viet Nam in my collection mostly early bronze and one Vichy piece. My best is a 7 tien, no date 1820-41 crown in silver at 40 mm, KM#91.

I purchased it at the liquidation of a fellows collection. He worked for the State Department. His job was to all US embassies and audit them. He was around ninety
years old when he passed. I could only afford one coin and this is it. Right place at the right time.

Not really interested and I find that weird. It’s just that I’m tired ( not really) Asian counterfeit

Fine. Why don't you create a more interesting topic? This will benefit the forum.

For some years now I only seek and collect Asian coins. Mostly India and anywhere along the Silk Road. Here is the cradle of history.

Your thread was a find one. I’ve read you before. I find your thoughts interesting. I don’t have the skills to venture into Asia coins. Scared to death. That’s all

I have this one, actually my only cash coin so I know little to nothing about it. Can you identify it for me and is it genuine?

I found this today using the Maktum coin identifier. It had a photo of the coin.
"Vietnam, Dynasties; 60 Vietnamese dong, 1837. AE, Barker #144". Like you I cannot believe it is from 1834, but I'd like to know more and have no other source. I probably paid $2 on Ebay. Thanks
