I ran across a "recognition of superior salesmanship" award and was wondering if it may be of any signifigant value. It is a plastic encased frame like container, with a 1922, a 1925 peace dolar (both look to be ms), two 1967 kennedy halfs, and most curiously, some sort of commemorative coin/token/medal dated 1911 with "gates mystery car winner" on it, looks to be silver, but I really don't want to break it out of it's case (in the event is has some value) to find out. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
Yes I know the story behind it. I was just wondering if I should break out the dollar to get a closer look at them. The 1911 commemorative confuses me also. Umm...rolleyes back at ya I guess. Thanks.
No extra value in this. Just bullion. However, I had one of these and the coins are glued in. Getting the glue off is next to impossible. I would advise that you keep it intact.
No numismatic value for the peace dollars? They look high MS. also why the 1911 date on the commemorative? It obviously wasn't put together in 1911.
if your set has the same glue that mine had, there is NO numismatic value. Just Bullion. Sorry, the glue ruins it all. There is no commemorative in the set. Just a token with the year 1911, the year Gates was founded. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gates_Corporation
