Two key date Standing Liberty Quarters. Second lowest mintage for the series at 396,000 minted. The reverse of the one is damaged. I’m sure it happened at the Mint while it was being minted. Does that make it an Etsy error sale? LOL
Hydraulic cutting edge with less than enough force to sheer the coin in two but enough to damage it as seen. JMO
I love SLQs!!! Thanks for posting your 27-Ss. Here's a few of my favorites from my son & my slabbed / graded set. We have everything except the 17/18-S overdate. It's taken us years to get the collection together and we're always looking to upgrade coins when the budget permits and opportunity arises. We started with a low grade set in a Whitman album and are working our way up. It's a lot of fun! Most of the ICG slabs were raw coins that we submitted on the Cointalk special.
I did a comparison check CN it is definitely PMD sorry. Not to worry you are still at 99.8% on the good side of knowledge. Keep them coming!
I've collected SLQs for quite awhile. Everybody knows the 1927 S is pricey but I have found a nice 1927 D to be a tough find.
Nice 1927-S SLQs! SLQs aren't my main area of interest but from what I know - this date has been the subject of quite some hoarding in AG-VG grades, but these get real tough to find nice coins Fine or better.
I've got 1 for my type set and a couple in 2x2's that I'm too lazy to dig out and still hunting a T1 1916/1917 for the set
I really like the SLQs, but as mentioned, they are pricey. I appreciate those that showed some of their SLQs. The only have 3, a 1918 % 1928 which have not been graded. I also have a 1924 which was graded an MS61 by NGC. It seems everyone is collecting them and with few of them made, they are hard to find that I can afford.
They are difficult to get and pricy. Anyone can get some of the later dates in junk silver but most of those date are worn off. This is my best one:
From time to time you can get the odd pre-1925 SLQ in junk silver with some of the date showing. I have a 1920 and 1924 currently... got a 20-S once with all four date digits and decent detail but I believe the reverse had a corrosion spot. Think I listed it on Ebay for $30 or so and it sold within a couple hours. In hindsight, maybe I should have kept it.
For most of what I have. I have tried to get the best I could afford. I only need a better 1927s. I need a 1923S. A better 1921. As far as 1916, 1918/17 but not a must now. I do have many uncs with full heads of some. Others are greater than MS60. Now, I am not adding to this set, because my kids, care not of them, so I may sell them or auction them in my coin club. I have enjoyed them. Many of the other sets I got out of circulation in 1950-60. Later I started buying what I could not find in circulation. Boy Scouts got me started in Numismatics. I still enjoy finding stuff in my change today.
