The easiest way to recognize the edge of a proof of one of these small dollars is that there are also vertical lines well spaced around the edge.
You can see one in each photo of the edge towards the right.

Drum roll plz..(.total newbie! Love the hunt!)

I found a 2009 EC 1c DDO/DDR, 2009 FY 1c DDR, a couple 1969 floating roof , a bunch of doubled ears, possibly a 1955 not as popular DDO variety and a 1955 D 'BIE', an 1982 P small date bronze, a 1982 D small date zinc just to start out with. No"{w, unfortuneately none are mint state red, but for me they are still way cool!

Found a couple odd things that are in laymans terms, distortion to the proportions of Lincoln face and bust. Proably something no one cares about, if legit, like a monkey upper lip, extra big, pointy nose, extra hair above his forehead (??maybe), one looks like his face is squished flatter,. Idk. Could be from straing at. The coins for too long lol!…@

If there aren't ANY photos, it never happened
Let's see some of that stuff and the squished face thing and we'll happily suggest what it might be from.
You can always edit your post and add some pics...

I picked up ten rolls of halves today and once again nothing other than a bunch of 2020 and 2021's. Getting tired of looking I haven't found silver in close to two years now. All Loomis rolls

Probably not. They are different because it is the first time an African American woman has been featured on a coin, and a new design for George Washington. But they will probably have high mintages. The ones I kept are just because they are the first I have found.

It's so infrequent in regular Loomis rolls that I honestly don't even glance at edges anymore...that way it's always a surprise lol :woot:

...My average is about 2 silver quarters per year. Out of how many rolls per year...I have NO idea

    And...wohoo! :joyful:

It's an easy quick simple thing to do and it's a convenient way to document and ask questions...
Possibly the two quickest but decent quality ways are setting your cellphone on something like books or a soda can to stabilize it while you take the photo or take a few hand held photos in good light if you have steady hands (this is what I usually do) and then quickly go through them and zoom into them to choose the sharpest one, delete the rest.

Then just use your camera's photo viewing app to save cropped versions and email to yourself...save the attached pics delete the email...post :woot:

That's how I did these (hand held in indirect sunlight from big window) that I was just going to post anyway from a couple small dollar rolls I just searched... :p

...Some lovely roller marks and a holed Sacagawea.

Today I finished searching the last 4 boxes of halves during my Florida vacation.

    notable results:
    1962D Benjamin
    Magician coin
    '87D

The above finds were far better than the first 4 boxes I searched here in Florida last week.

This trip I noticed a lot more sharpie marks on obverse, reverse, and sides of coins compared to last I searched halves here 2 years ago...Discouraging.

    Oh well, things change.

    happy hunting everyone

Went to 7-11 and traded 5 uncirculated 2021 rolls for what look to be 5 very promising rolls! Two wheat cent 011.jpg enders; a 1941 and an unknown one!

Picked up my boxes for the week....
1 box of halves instead of 2...a guy was there and asked for a box right before I got to the teller so she gave him one of my boxes. :rage: That box was skunk
1 box of quarters instead of 2. Bank needed a box for the week. Was totally fine since it is a solid box of 2022P Maya Angelou
    2 boxes of cents - solid 2022P.

    This.week.sucked.

The banks around here are having a hard time getting quarters. limited to 1 roll for customers and 5 rolls for business. I sure would like to find a Maya Angelou roll or 2! so far have not seen ay solid rolls of them show up in this area.
