Entry post - I’d like something anc. or medieval if I get lucky enough to win.

I’ve made it clear in past contests - of all the coins in your collection I most adore this Lithuanian beauty. I considered making an offer a while back but you know how these things can be :)

Besides that, I admire the three below. Some are a little out of my price range though! 5ED38CFA-3072-441A-AEC2-D34B9E5FA8E7.png BF5DB9A9-0562-4A5E-B0B1-2BB4A9BBB8F1.png E62EEF55-097C-4418-A432-DB6E30BB6BAB.png

My usual category of choice is C- United States Coins
However, if you want to know which coin(s) I like from your collection that is a WHOLE different ball of wax!
    I LOVE the

Great Britain, proof silver Britannia commemorative (one ounce, .999 fine), 2013
    and the

Somalia: silver 100-shillings, 2014; silver bullion coinage (elephant)
and of course, with current events the way they are the

Ukraine: colorized proof nickel-brass (albata) medal: “Heroes of Maidan", 2014 is really interesting.

Lastly, the rainbow toning on the
United States: bronze specimen Lincoln cent, Memorial type, Special Mint Set issue, 1965 is amazing!

Sorry if this is longer or more information than you wanted/needed. You collect coins more or less as I do. Yes, I have some "Sets", but I mostly collect what is cool or unusual.
Thanks as Always for all you do @lordmarcovan!!!!

Entry Post. I still very much like your
Swiss Cantons (Zürich): silver "city view" 1/2-thaler (1 gulden of 36 schillings), 1739

It still takes me breath away. A majestic lion and a very cool "city view". The English groat is awesome for the portrait. The Persian gold also gets my attention for being so interesting looking. If I win I would like anything from the World Coins section. Thank you for your generosity.

My 2 new toned Canadian dimes...

Any category that contains an error coin!
As far as which of your coins I go wild over, it is the Great Britain: silver South Sea Company sixpence of George I, 1723; double-struck mint error.

@Evan Saltis - I just upgraded the Feuchtwanger cent!

    Traded that PCGS AU53 (and a fair-sized chunk o’ change) for a PCGS MS64!

Rob, your collection is gorgeous my friend. I wish I knew anything about ancients because you've got some beauties. Same with foreigns.

I guess that leaves me with the US coins. Not that that's a problem mind you ;) That said, I'm loving your 'United States: gold quarter-eagle ($2.50), Liberty Head type, 1907'.

As for the category should I win, I think it's pretty clear, US coinage.

    Good luck to all entrants.

Thanks for your unending generosity Rob.

It was incredibly hard to chose a favorite coin from your amazing collection, but, if I had to choose a favorite it would have to be the 1965 SP66RB cent! I love the color!
As for the category, definitely C
Thank you, and keep up the good work!

I like the Vespasian Denarius. Most Vespasian coins have a portrait that looks like somebody you want to avoid in dark Alley

Fun contest...with fun homework...smart teacher :joyful:

I'm loving that 1866 3 cent. Love the almost pastel toning.
That Pilgrim half is wonderful too. I'm sucker for coins with ships with beautiful solid perimeter toning lol.

    I choose U.S. Coin category.

Also there was really only person I thought of when I pulled this out of roll a couple days ago lol...

I've looked toward this collection as the inspiration for my own since pretty early in my collecting career. I really appreciate the way it's very intentional but allows for a wide range of types of coin. It puts the glory of numismatics on display.

In particular, I really love the funerary medal for Napoleon. That said, my choice of category is world coins because that's my collecting focus.

Many thanks for your generosity @lordmarcovan!

Are you sure Lucy and Elvis aren't on the prize list? They look so cuddly. LOL

I chose Category C although I wouldn't be unhappy with Cat. D either.

Love the NY nickel - along with most of your collection.

    Thanks Rob.

    Are you sure? LOL

@lordmarcovan, you have an amazing collection, and I would be proud to have any of these items in my own meager stockpile.

Picking favorites was hard. I had to spend quite some time figuring out for myself what would make a coin a favorite: how much I would love to have it as part of my own meager collection; how exotic/unusual (to me) it is; how nice it looks; and how much I just like that type of coin are probably the most important criteria. So with that said, my favorites are (in order) the US Gold Eagle, the US 20-cent piece, the 1909 VDB Lincoln Wheat-cent, the US Peace dollar, and just because everyone should have at least one ancient, the Athena and owl silver drachm ca. 302-281 BC.

As is probably clear from above, I am a “category C-US Coins” kind of guy.

Many thanks to @lordmarcovan for this generous giveaway.

Tough choices, you have a gawjeus eclectic collection.

I'd go down two paths with this Ancient/Medieval love the Greek Griffin and then there's the Groat of Henry VI.

Another path I'd choose is World, being an Aussie, I find that Melbourne, Victoria 1862 Draper's Penny very attractive. I believe I have a token from that period that a good friend gave me many many years ago, but don't know where it is :(

Why Thank you Sir! I feel blessed to be included!

I moved to the US in 2016 with all my worldly goods in boxes, included in one of them is a coin album from when I was collecting as a kid and beyond. If I can find that album, I can find the token
