Hi all! Firstly, this is not my coin. I saw it while scrolling through eBay and was intrigued. I do not intend to buy it. It appears to be a medallion (or mounted follis?) of Diocletian, with FIDES MILITVM reverse (only on antoninianii, and not with this depiction of Fides). The "coin" is only 23mm in diameter, and the seller does not specify a weight. To me, the suspicious things about it that stand out are that the reverse may possibly be tooled (?), FIDES MILITVM (as far as I can tell) was not used on any follis types, and the surface looks slightly bubbly. Apart from that, however, the piece is of good style, and the wear on the coin looks consistent. The green deposits also add a little hint of authenticity. Does anyone have any opinions on this? If it is a reproduction, I'll probably add it to some Fake Coin report lists. I contacted the seller, to see if they have any provenance for it, but (possibly unsurprisingly), they didn't respond. This does not look ancient, especially the letters. For me, just from the picture, it's a fantasy modern object.
Also, there is no F after the P in "PF AVG" which normally one would expect. Red flag. And to top it off the portrait does not appear to be right.
