Your probably seeing them on ebay coins, thats just an optical illusion due to light reflection etc blue does not exist for cac.
Since it's listed in a Great Collections auction I'm confident the sticker is real. I'll go with the false color due to the lighting situation. Green is a combination of blue and yellow. I guess if the lighting source doesn't have yellow in it blue would be the resulting color.
I was a printer for 36 years, and not only could the sticker be just a poor print job (color match) or a make-ready that should have been discarded or it has just faded and changed due to exposure to ultra violet light. There are what's known as color-fast inks used when printing things like art-prints as an example, but to be honest all inks change over time. Or maybe the camera is color blind or the photographer.
Is there a way to determine how many coins of a particular type -- let's say, Saints -- got CAC stickers during a particular year ? Does JA/CAC have that information somewhere on their website ?
They have a population report on their website that is combined with the price guide. https://www.caccoin.com/pop/ They may tell you how many during a year if you talk to him, they won’t tell you anything specific or give you the x was submitted and y stickered numbers. If you keep the questions very general you might get some answers. You can also ask on the CAC forum and see if they respond
Thanks BB !! On another thread it occured to me that the number of CAC stickers given to a particular coin type over time might be interesting if you had the annual totals. I'll see what I can uncover.
Im not sure that really adds anything especially if they won’t tell you the pcgs vs ngc. They do have double counted crossovers as well. If you really wanted to do some big article on it they might be more open but I don’t think you’re gonna get anything super useful as a random caller. There’s also the fact too that you have to factor in market conditions/acceptance where it should be expected that the early years have lower numbers. Doesn’t mean anything’s really changed that much with higher numbers other than people now realize the value in trying There is this though from one of their mods that sounds like you’d be interested in https://www.caccoin.com/forums/disc...asked-question-what-of-coins-does-cac-approve
