Mr Postman... is that a letter for me?

 

Got my letter as well and I didn't even have to send an angry email :goofer:

 

I got my letter yesterday from Teletrade!!!! Yea!

 

no letter here.

 

Has anyone gotten their ANA Member # or any other info from the ANA?

It been over a month now since I received the acknowledgement letter from TT that I had been selected to received one of the complimentary one-year Free ANA Memberships, that I applied for back in December 2009.

This past week I received two e-newsletters from the ANA, so it appears I am in their system. However, I have not yet received any direct mail or communications welcoming me as a new member, nor received my ANA Member #, useful for submitting coins, filling in HA.com polls, CT signature lines, etc.

Bueller... Bueller... Bueller... Come out, Come out wherever you are!

 

Same here, I have recieved email notifications about the new issue of The Numismatist for online copies, but have not recieved a letter or anything else with regards to my membership.

 

Same problems as y'all.
I've been receiving emails from the ANA, but nothing on my actual membership, login, nada.

 

e-mails from ANA also..no membership materials yet... waiting anxiously

 

Good luck with that bunch. I mean I really do hope you get it and there are some very good people there and all but, that group is so full of commitees and sub-commitees and crappy leadership, well, all I can say is good luck.

 

A letter of inquiry has been sent to the ANA regarding the offer for Free One-Year Memberships.

 

Nothing but their emails. Still waiting for membership to use the submission opportunity.

Hate to say it, but that's what happens when you do things "on the cheap". Don't mean any disrespect to all who have capitalized on this wonderful opportunity, but the fact remains that the "payin'" folks get first dibs.....

 

Kind of the point of my complaint here Ken... You see, I haven't 'capitalized' off of it yet, but they've used this 'offer' to boost membership levels themselves and have begun marketing campaigns by sending e-newsletters having obtained our email addresses. The lure of free membership which seems to have started already is actually part of the free year ticking by in which we have not received a welcome and a member number to begin submissions and buy supplies, etc. The lure of free membership should be one in which you welcome and convince new members of the promptness and value of your service so that at the end of the free year, they get you to sign up again and become a paying member. So far customer service is falling far short and I addressed this in comparison to the stellar customer support I regularly receive from their partner, TeleTrade who used their member base to promote this offer.

 

Good news... Ask and you shall receive!!!

My letter of inquiry produced a response from someone at ANA in Member Services, which came in less than 24 hours.

Their reply included my new registered member number, an activated online account and a prompt mailing of the Membership materials alluded to in the TeleTrade letter as well as the magazine. I have been waiting for over a month now for something that could have easily been handled in short order in this personalized manner.

The only reasoning given for the delay was that they were processing several hundred new memberships. If you recall the original offer from TeleTrade mentioned they were giving out 800 free one-year memberships. Apparently they are grossly understaffed or under-prepared for managing the influx of new member accounts and this relatively small mailing task. I am still unclear as to the actual start date of the membership but two months since requesting a membership from such a sizable and established member based organization was far too long to acknowledge new members and get things rolling.

For those of you still awaiting your free memberships, if you do not get your Membership materials by the end of next week, I would encourage you to email ANA directly at the contact address on their website. It was indicated that materials have begun shipping today and next Monday.

I'm really glad it worked out for you'all - I mean that good for you!!!

 

Has anyone tried renewing their current membership at no charge for one year? Every time I see an offer by my cable provider, I call and get the promotion price, even with existing service. I have been doing this for many years. Has anyone tried talking with them?

 

And I'm unclear on when they stop - I didn't renew my membership this year as I have alot of things going on, and I'm still getting emails and the monthly mag....and mine was up in Oct! LOL

I received an e-mail yesterday

I e-mailed them asking what I needed to do to receive a password to view the online issue. They responded a few hours later with the info plus a message saying my welcome package and ID # etc would be mailed next week.
