I have several quarters with these marks! There all different but similar. The area is to the left of the feet. Thank you for all your replies. Hello. If it's raised, then it's just a common "Die Chip". ;)

Thank you for your replies. I shall keep a couple to put in the collection. I couldn't find any others like these "Die Cracks" that have sold, been sold up for a or even thrown in for a grab bag. So another question I have is, are common die cracks and common die chips catalogue some where ? An are these minor cracks still considered an error or just die deteriorating. I'm always willing to learn! Thank You!!!

When I look at the shadows on your pictures, I think it looks more like a gouge than a chip or die crack! Of course, you need to take into account my old eyes aren't what they used to be! ;);)

Good eye catching the die cracks. As they are common errors as mentioned from above the value is minimal but still an error. Some folks like to follow the error as the crack progresses even though that would be a major task to obtain.

I'm sorry, I just realized I posted same pictures of the "die cracks" there are multiple different cracks. An yes they are all raised off the surface. So would they be from different dies? Yes.. Each year they use several Obverse and Reverse Dies when minting coins. They check each die for wear after several thousands of strikes and then are replaced when issues such as die cracks occur. It's a Die Deterioration issue.
