This contest is now CLOSED. Winner was announced in Post #25.

Greetings. I was approached by a very kind anonymous donor to whom we'll assign the pseudonym "Alexander del Mar". He wants to give away these seventeen (!) genuine, unattributed ancient Greek bronzes, which I'm pretty sure all date from the BC era (i.e., most if not all of them are over 2,000 years old).

All you'll need to do to enter is to post an entry post and thank our donor. One entry post per member. The winner will be randomly selected to win all seventeen coins seen here!

This contest will be opened when I receive the coins in the mail (from overseas), and the final drawing will likely take place sometime in late February (or maybe early March).

Update, 2/17/22: The coins have now traveled across the globe and are here, and so the contest is now open! We will do the drawing around the end of February or early March, whenever I have the time. You may consider it to be open for entries until such time as I return and announce the drawing.

    Numismatic Regards,
    ~Robertson ("Rob") Shinnick (aka "LordM")
(on behalf of the mysterious and generous "Alexander del Mar")

PS- I just remembered that @Theodosius also sent me a cool lot of ancient coins (from @John Anthony's inventory) to give away! Those are in hand, but I have not as yet had time to post that giveaway. (I'm SO far behind! *sigh*) So stay tuned for that one as well! :)

What a very generous offer, and as I don't own any Greek coins, I will be excited to participate.

Many thanks and great appreciation to the anonymous Alexander del Mar for such a generous gift

Icicles ~ The camera did not capture all the prism colors in the icicles that the human eye sees. They looked amazing with the sun shining on them.
That was why I took the picture in the first place. I regret that I didn't post a smaller file, sorry. It will be a month or more til we get the daffy dills. Jealous!

@Paddy54 - this contest is not for “one of the above”, but rather for all seventeen coins shown!
