Rather than having a loop the(R)is partially obliterated the overall coin looks odd.Sorry for the bad photos my phone doesn't want to cooperate I'll try to get better pics if needed.
Can you get better pictures? Hard to tell from these, but the date is right and it's worth getting right. I'm sure you've seen these, but just in case...
another try,has some pretty strange rims(obverse and reverse).Dont think all those bumps e.t.c occurred from circulation.
That does not appear to be a Henning nickle. I believe the tell tail incongruity is on the right leg of the R.
According to this article, the counterfeits should weigh 5.4g as opposed to a normal 5.0g http://www.error-ref.com/henning-counterfeit-nickel/
Just came back recently, forgot pictures but it weighs in at 5.5g they did it four times all the same.I do believe I have found my first henning nickel.
Actually offered me an even $50 for it I was surprised, just said no thanks and left. They said the offer still stands as long as you have it.
@potty dollar 1878. I might have taken the $50. It's going to cost more to get it out of the coin hospital after all the injury repairs. Nice coin good luck.
Looks better for a Henning at 5.5 grams. While that isn’t a sure indication, a normal 5 grams would be 2 strikes against it. Maybe $150 value
Wow,don't plan on selling it anytime soon.Im waiting for @Jack D. Young to respond if he says yes then I'd say legit for sure.
