You may want to weigh it again because it would be 1 in 1000,000,000 that it's struck on a solid copper/bronze planchet. Do this get about 4 copper cents and 4 modern cents with yours in the middle. Start weighing them one by one. If your scale in anything like mine when I put a zinc cent (or copper) on the scale it flutters a bit between 2.5 and 3.3 before settling on it's correct weight whatever cent is on there. This is very little weight for most scales. If your coin was a 1983 it would probably make more sence but there should be no reason a solid copper/bronze cent planchet would be near the dies in 1985.
also around the rim at the top it looks like the rim has exess material at the top that overlaps and hangs off a little.and hangs over the right edge in spots.like it was poorly cut out.
also look at the last pic on the date the nine in the date is strange and the rest of the numbers.there just curved different
It might weigh more because it is plated with something, like in the experiment. If it weight .5 g more, that is a lot of plating and could explain the weirdness of the letters and date.
