I'm new at this forum, but I would remember the key dates anytime you have change, invest in a coin microscope ( makes a huge difference in finding double dies and close am. Or wide am. Pennies) , purchasing a coin collecting book, and finding a legit coin you tube channel to subscribe to. I watch couch collectibles the most he is fast and efficient. Starnote look up is a good site to see if yours is rare or not. And of course check out your condition of the coin. Don't clean it with anything except maybe soapy water! Don't save all your coins you think MIGHT be valuable. Certain years are different values because they didn't make as many that year or that specific mint. Some antique stores ( one in my home town) have big bins of coins you can look through and the one I go to is 4 coins for 1 dollar including a huge variety of foreign coins. I go to our local hobby lobby and buy singular plastic sleeves like baseball card sleeves but smaller to keep my Ms conditioned coins before I send them in to heritage auctions.but I always get a second or third opinion at other local coin shops in the area before sending them in.

Buy/keep what interests you, don't let others tell you what to keep.

@physics-fan3.14 - pretty please, wrap up this contest soon, or I’ll assume you’ve abandoned it and will lock it down.

All right, I am left with no conclusion but that @physics-fan3.14 forgot this contest or decided to abandon it, so I'm locking it down.

@physics-fan3.14 - if you do wish to redeem the pledge and draw some winners, message me and I'll unlock it again. In the meantime, it is closed.

It was a neat idea for a thread, but with the contest aspect unfulfilled, I think it's run long enough.
