This was a Metal Detected find from my latest hunt :wideyed:

    1942 Wartime Nickel - P Mint Mark
    35% Silver
    9% Manganese
    56% Copper

After looking at this nickel find a little better I noticed the area above and to the right of the dome has a Planchet Mint Error.

    This is a Lamination :woot:

I always wanted to give metal detecting a shot.

What type would you recommend, VLF, Mi or PI?

You sure you didn't just notch it with that Vorpal Shovel you posted in the other thread? ;)

This is the most popular Metal Detector nowdays..

    Equinox 800

The Minelab Equinox 800 brings a new perspective to the detecting world through the implementation of what Minelab calls Multi-IQ technology. The Equinox 800 can simultaneously operate on up to five VLF and LF frequencies (5Khz, 10Khz, 15Khz, 20Khz, 40Khz), designed to enable detection of small and large targets, both ferrous and non-ferrous. Or, each individual frequency (except for 20Khz and 40Mhz) can be selected separately, allowing the Equinox to operate as a traditional single frequency VLF detector.

I purchased a more affordable machine also made by Minelab

    Equinox 800 $900.00 - $1000.00 Vs. Vanquish 440 $279.00

As always, nice finds, but where is the rest of the items you found.
I often find the other "miscellaneous" items as interesting as the coins (almost).

Okay, okay, I just clicked on the next post I have in queue and see you posted all of it. Sorry about that. LOL
