He was the greatest Russian general during the WW II. Georgius Zhukov for Russians - is like general Robert Edward Lee for Americans.
Coin ¹ 2. One roubel 1987, copper-nickel, mintage - 3780000. 175th Anniversary - Battle of Borodino - Soldiers. At 20 August 1812 Russian Army (commander - general Michael Kutuzov) and Frenc Army (commander - Napoleon I) struggled on the Borodino"s Field. Sequel of this battle - draw. And about 65000 wounded and depressed (killed) french and russian soldiers.
Coin № 3. One roubel 1989. copper-nickel, mintage - 2700000. 175th Anniversary - Birth T. (Taras) G. (Gregory) Shevchenko. He was a famous Ukrainian poet.
